First and foremost, I have always had a passion for helping people. I've worked in the human services field for over a decade in a variety of positions and at a number of different agencies. After over 10 years of working in the psychology and human services field, primarily with disadvantaged youth, I wanted an opportunity to be my own boss and still be able to help people improve their lives. Massage for me is not just a one time thing. It is part of a health and wellness plan that I feel that people should incorporate into their lives regularly.
Although I work with a variety of clients, I specialize in working with military service members and all types of first responders. I want to honor and have a chance to serve those people that give everything they have to take care of others, so that they may continue to do the work that they love without burning out.
My goal as a massage therapist is to educate people on the many benefits that it has been known to have. I do not see massage as a luxury but rather as a necessity. We only have one body so why not take care of it? I am an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), and the AMTA has a wealth of research that shows some of the benefits of massage therapy. This list includes:
Since I travel to people's homes I encourage people to meet with me ahead of time in order to feel comfortable. This is also a great opportunity to answer any questions one may have prior to the appointment. I respect people's space and I respect their time, just as I would expect the same. I provide therapeutic massage in a safe and appropriate way.
If you're looking for someone who truly cares about you as a person and is interested in helping you achieve optimum wellness through massage and energy work, then I feel that we would be a good match.
